For key points in production please see the timeline. In the late 60's probably with the formation of British Leyland, it was decided to update the Mini, and hopefully replace it. So with the help of some engineers from Ford, they designed the Clubman, a more square fronted Mini. Externally the differences were from the wings forwards and internally the differences were that the clocks were moved from the centre to above the steering column. The engine at the time was 998cc engine, compared with the standard Mini of the time which was a 850cc. |
